Today, we recognize the importance of childhood and the impact it has on shaping our future. As the CEO of the Institute of Early Childhood Development, I am committed to ensuring that every child has access to high-quality early childhood education and care.
Your special day is marked by the hosting of the Regional Workshop for Eastern and Southern Africa, next week, our first for the region, where we will discuss your future and the future of all children in our region, as we promised to do in Uzbekistan, Tashkent last year. This event will bring together experts and policymakers from across the region to share best practices and strategies for promoting quality early childhood education and care. Our commitment to improving the lives of children is unwavering, and we are excited to continue working together with our partners to make a positive impact.
We are thrilled to join the celebration of the Year for Education for Africa, 2024. This initiative is a crucial step towards realizing the African Union’s goal of “Quality Education for Africa” and aligns with our own vision to provide every Seychellois child with access to quality Early Childhood Care and Education, ensuring a strong foundation for all, regardless of their background or circumstances.
As the regulator for child care services, we are dedicated to upholding our commitment to providing first-class services for children. Our new international mandate as a UNESCO category 2 Institute is a testament to our dedication to excellence and our desire to make a positive impact on a global scale.
