The 7th Meeting of UNESCO Category 2 Centres in Education, organised by APCEIU in conjunction with the 42nd General Conference of UNESCO, took place at Ibis Hotel in Paris on 9th November 2023. Following the 6th Meeting of the Category 2 Centres in Education in June 2022, the 7th meeting brought Category 2 Centres in Education together to share their key activities and action plans and explore avenues of potential collaboration.
The meeting was attended by 23 participants from 8 Category 2 Centres in Education. Following the presentation from each Centre, participants engaged in discussions, generating promising ideas for collaboration. During the discussion session, the idea of establishing a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) involving all Category 2 Centres in Education was also proposed. Furthermore, attendees explored the potential organisation of the next Category 2 Centres in Education meeting. Teacher Education Centre (TEC) expressed enthusiasm about hosting the next meeting of Category 2 Centres next year.
The 7th meeting will serve as a roadmap for the next Category 2 Centres meeting and explore opportunities for potential collaboration among the UNESCO Category 2 Centres in Education to advance UNESCO’s strategic priorities.
