TOGETHER, LET US FULLFIL OUR PROMISES TO NURTURE AND EMPOWER OUR CHILDREN FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE

Message for Early Childhood Educators’ Day by IECD / UNESCO category 2 Institute CEO – Mrs. Shirley Choppy

As part of the 2024 ECCE theme days organised by the IECD, we joined communities across Australia in celebrating Early Childhood Educator Day. This special day, observed on the first Wednesday in September, is dedicated to honoring the passionate men and women who play a vital role in laying the foundation for our children’s futures.

We take this opportunity to express our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude on behalf of the children, parents, and the entire community. Your well-being is incredibly important to us, and we believe it is essential for everyone to recognise the invaluable yet challenging work you do every day.

At the Institute, we celebrate you not just on this day but every day. Everything we do is aimed at supporting your efforts and contributing to the greater good of our children. We are committed to your professional development by providing training that equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to create a safe and nurturing environment for our children. We produce resources designed to facilitate your work, ensuring that our children receive a strong foundation and enriching learning experiences.

Our research efforts aim to identify solutions to the challenges you face and inform the policies we develop for the betterment of all. Being an Early Childhood Educator is an honorable profession, and we are dedicated to uplifting it. The impact of your work extends beyond individual lives; it contributes significantly to the long-term success of the child and our country.

Our commitment to seeing our children thrive goes beyond borders. We aspire for our efforts to resonate globally, crossing continents as we promise to make a difference in the world.

On this special day, we wish to extend our gratitude to all Early Childhood Educators in Seychelles (Childminders, Managers and their Assistants in Child Care Services, Teachers and Teacher Assistants in key stage one in Schools and Coordinators), as well as the staff of the Institute. Thank you for your dedication and unwavering support in fulfilling the mission entrusted to us.
